YMCA International Services is a unique center of the YMCA of Greater Houston that delivers client-centered programs to refugees, immigrants and other vulnerable populations to advance their economic independence, social integration and civic participation. Through the Refugee Scholarship Program, YMCA International Services has been able to provide funding for full-time higher education students who have a status as refugee, Special Immigrant Visa holder, asylee, or Victim of Trafficking. The Y also provides counseling or legal representation to individuals seeking immigration assistance.

- Houston Volunteer Lawyers (FREE)
Houston Volunteer Lawyers (HVL) is the largest provider of pro bono legal services in Harris County and the surrounding areas. Thousands of private attorneys volunteer their time and expertise each year to provide free legal assistance on civil legal matters to eligible, low-income area residents.

The Baker Ripley program offers free citizenship services to community members, including a free course to prepare for the United States Citizenship. The course integrates 40 hours of English Second Language listening, reading, writing, and oral skills and covers civics lessons on U.S. History and Government as required for the naturalization interview. While in class, students simulate mock interviews, participate in USCIS events, and receive free textbooks and resources to prepare for their interview.

LegalLine is a community service outreach program created by the Houston Bar Association in 1985. This hotline is designed to help the people of Houston receive simple legal advice, answers to legal questions and referrals to helpful resources over the telephone, at no cost to the caller. Callers may ask questions on any legal topic. All calls are answered by licensed attorneys. Volunteer attorneys specialize in a variety of fields, including family law.

Free / Low Cost Health Services - Islamic Society of Greater Houston / Shifa Free Health Clinics
Through their affiliation with the Shifa Clinics, ISGH has been healing the community one patient at a time by providing free medical care to all those who need it. The Shifa Clinics provide healthcare services ranging from primary healthcare, ophthalmology to dentistry, and wellness exams to immunizations at four clinics across the greater Houston area.

Harris Health System’s Casa de Amigos Health Center offers primary and specialty medical care to adults and children residing in the central and near-north area of Houston. In addition to providing primary care services, Casa de Amigos Health Center offers adult OB/GYN, ophthalmology and psychiatry care. The center also provides convenient on-site laboratory and pharmacy services combined with nutrition and health education, counseling and other social services to meet each patient’s unique needs.
